I love the Brother Cadfael mystery series by Ellis Peters too! When I had an herb garden, I always wished there was a statue of Brother Cadfael (perhaps based on Sir Derek Jacobi’s features) I could put in it – and, of course, I wanted (and still want) an herb cottage like his 😉

Can anyone recommend a good book for food storage? Not canning or fermenting etc. But how to store potatoes and other vegetables for a few months.

The Little Britches series by Ralph Moody are a favorite at our house for non-fiction stories about Ralph’s family having a homestead and his creative ways of earning a living.
